Heel pain
Expert podiatry assessment and treatment for adult heel pain
Heel pain is one of the most common foot problems affecting adults — around 1 in 10 experience it — and it can make walking, standing and exercising uncomfortable, affecting work and daily life. The good news is that most cases respond very well to the right care.
At our Belfast clinic, our experienced, HCPC-registered podiatry team diagnoses the specific cause of your heel pain and builds a personalised plan to get you back on your feet comfortably.

Common causes of heel pain
Heel pain usually develops gradually. Several conditions can affect the heel, so understanding the specific diagnosis is key to treating it well.
The most common cause — overload or inflammation of the band of tissue along the sole that inserts into the heel.
Irritation or degeneration of the Achilles tendon, felt at the back of the heel. Learn more ›
Bony growths often linked to plantar fasciitis, plus overuse, footwear or foot-type factors such as flat feet or high arches.
